Efficient Site Building

How do you build a site on a limited budget? It is easy to let a simple site get out of hand and before you know it you've spent too much time on it. And every extra hour spent is time you could be working on another project. So how do you keep this from happening?

This session will cover ideas and techniques to help you efficiently build simple sites. Topics will include leveraging existing modules, using generic theme templates and knowing when and where to write code.

Strategies for Integrating Drupal with CiviCRM

CiviCRM is open source Constituent Relationship Management software designed specifically to meet the needs of advocacy, non-profit and non-governmental groups. CiviCRM provides basic integration with both Drupal and Joomla content management systems out-of-the-box. It also provides APIs and a "hook" system which allow developers to integrate with other modules, AND it can be used as a CRM "platform" for building complex vertical-market applications.

Drupal Search: Core API; CCK and Views

The search module is one of the gems in Drupal's crown. It is elegantly architected and very solid in terms of its theoretical foundation. It is also one of the least understood components.

I will show you how Drupal handles search and how it can be extended and customized. Then, Doug Green will show you the work he's been doing on CCK and Views assisted searching.

This presentation will be broadcast dojo style (with VNC, SkypeCast and IRC). Check here for more details closer to the event.
