Description:
CiviCRM is open source Constituent Relationship Management software designed specifically to meet the needs of advocacy, non-profit and non-governmental groups. CiviCRM provides basic integration with both Drupal and Joomla content management systems out-of-the-box. It also provides APIs and a "hook" system which allow developers to integrate with other modules, AND it can be used as a CRM "platform" for building complex vertical-market applications.
This session is designed for developers interesting in learning about the range of strategies available for extending and building on CiviCRM. We will take a look at a multi-page application processing framework built on CiviCRM for The McConnell Foundation - from registering and getting applicant data, to applicant filtering, rating and award-making decisions using input from multiple applicant reviewers. We will demo the application(s) and discuss the rationale behind using CiviCRM, as well as the code architecture.
We will also take a look at one or more modules that integrate CiviCRM with other features of Drupal:
- CiviNode integrates CCK, Views and CiviCRM contacts.
- OG_CiviCRM combines the functionality of Organic Groups with the power of CiviCRM
We plan on including presentations by some of developers of these applications - as their availability allows.
