OpenID : In Drupal core and your CMS too

Thursday - 10:15am - Thursday - 11:15am
Description:
"OpenID is an open, decentralized, free framework for user-centric digital identity." This means that open source CMS systems have a standard way for doing distributed authentication as well as passing profile data between sites.
In this session, we'll cover (briefly) the topic of Digital Identity - what it means and why you should care. Then we'll look at the Drupal implementation of the OpenID protocols - looking at some challenges faced, design decisions (particularly for getting the code included in core), as well as the current state of the code (with demos!).
This session is ideal for Drupal developers both interested in helping to implement OpenID features (and help get the code into core). However, it will hopefully prove interesting for other projects interested in or looking at including OpenID support (and might convince those who aren't that they should).
